The Zimbabwe Under-23 captain is reportedly unhappy at ZPC Kariba and is pushing to play under his father Lloyd at Dynamos.

The former FC Platinum striker was in Harare recently where he met his manager Nigel Munyati to discuss his future.

Mutasa wanted to join Dynamos when they were still under the guidance of Paulo Jorge Silva.

His decision to come to Harare has been motivated by ZPC Kariba’s failure to honour their part of the transfer agreement after failing to pay him his signing-on fees since joining at the start of the year.

Munyati yesterday said his client was unhappy at ZPC Kariba and wanted to move on.

“The truth is Mutasa has not been paid his signing-on fees by ZPC Kariba since he joined them in January,” Munyati said.

“He is not happy there and wants to move on. That is the reason he wants to join Dynamos, but so far there is nothing concrete. He has to settle issues with ZPC Kariba first and then he can join Dynamos. Since he has played for half of the season, they do not have to pay him the full amount. They just have to pay half of it so he can move on. We are just waiting to hear from them.”

Dynamos treasurer Webster Marechera said he was currently in discussions with ZPC Kariba management and negotiations were at an advanced stage.

“I am talking to ZPC Kariba and the deal is almost 90% done. The good thing is that the player is eager to play for Dynamos. We expect to seal the deal soon,” Marechera said.

Should the deal sail through, it will represent another big capture for Dynamos after they secured Denver Mukamba, who is expected to star for the Harare giants against Border Strikers on Sunday.

His clearance from South Africa is expected today.
