The album, Umuntu Uyingozi, was unveiled to the public at Bulawayo’s Cecil Hotel.

Igwe as Nyoni is popularly known, described the late Moyo as his greatest inspiration before he performed a rendition of his hit track Rudo.

The six-track album carries songs such as Ziyenzeka Izinto, Mwanawanga, Mwari Wekudenga, Shona Aalanga, Bayakhulum’ abantu and Varume Chii Chanetsa. It was recorded by veteran producer Jabulani Ndhlovu at True-Tone Studios in Harare.

The artiste calls his brand of sungura music Deep African Sounds, which is a fusion of rhumba, kanindo and traditional sounds that are found in Africa with a fusion of different languages such as Lingala, French, Nyanja, Shona and isiNdebele.

One of the tracks Varume Chii Chanetsa is already making waves on local radio stations.
