The dictionary defines a terrorist as a person or group that relies on violence against innocent people to impose their will. The threats of unleashing violence and dealing ruthlessly with anyone and everyone who opposes Mugabe’s continued misrule have gone demonic and shows all Zanu PF functionaries are no more, nor less than terrorists and should be condemned as such by patriotic Zimbabweans and the world at large.

Recently, the police went mad brutalising peaceful demonstrators and some of the videos went viral. The Mugabe regime will never listen to reason and see that they have brought the country to its kness and should leave office to save the country from implosion and starvation of citizens.

The violence DNA in Zanu PF is so deep in the highest offices of the country. Now the violence is parked at the doorsteps of once vehicles of violence. The war veterans are now being victimised by agents of the State to cow them into submission and accept Mugabe’s misrule.

On Wednesday Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa was left hanging by Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Mandiitawepi Chimene, who Mugabe is now using to fight Team Lacoste. At every stage of a political challenge in Zanu PF, Mugabe uses one person or two to harass and victimise his rivals. The pattern is there from former war veterans leader Jabulani Sibanda using State-sponsored violence to win in 2013 to Christopher Mutsvangwa and Mnangagwa to destroy former Vice-President Joice Mujuru. For the first time, Zimbabweans were told to ignore that Mujuru shot down a helicopter during the liberation war. It was all to destroy her personality and credit. Now it’s Saviour Kasukuwere, Kudzanai Chipanga and Chimene spewing hate against fellow war veterans.

This continued use of terroristic tactics is so embedded in Zanu PF that it is not the actors who cause violence, but the system and leadership that so survive on violence and must be reined in. Zanu PF is now using our police force to settle party political disputes. The arrest of Douglas Mahiya and Victor Matemadanda shows the violent nature of Zanu PF as it is done mafia style more like terrorists Boko Haram abducting Nigerian girls.
