“What a loss. I was woken up this morning to be told of the passing away of my PA, Diana Chideya. ‘Harare One’ will miss her dearly — a legend at Town House,” he wrote.
Manyenyeni also told NewsDay Chideya was a diligent worker.
“She was a made-to-measure individual, tailored for the diversity of the mayor’s office. She served with honour, her dignity was a balancing feature for more than just the mayor — age a bridge between stakeholders and all the competing issues,” he said.
City spokesperson, Michael Chideme said Chideya’s death came as a shock.
“She was a dedicated employee who served with loyalty. We are still to get details about the cause of her death,” he said.
