Sibanda was attached to Mutare City Rovers for the first half of the season, but wants to move on after his six-month contract expired.

It is understood Sibanda will sign an 18-month contract with the Green Machine, but Mutare City Rovers, who currently sit one place from the bottom of the log, are hoping that they can use the player one more time when they face Tsholotsho in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match before he leaves. Sibanda travelled to Mutare at the weekend to push for his clearance from Mutare City Rovers.

His manager Lloyd Chinawa said the forceful striker would be leaving the new boys after tomorrow’s match.

“I am travelling to Harare to finalise on the deal, he is here to collect his clearance and play his last game,” he said.

“Mutare City Rovers asked to use him on Wednesday (tomorrow),’’ he said.

Rovers team manager Lyndon Kanyemba confirmed that Sibanda would play his last match against Tsholotsho.

“We agreed with his handlers that Sibanda will play his last game on Wednesday (tomorrow). Going into the match, we are in desperate need of the three points, we are in the relegation zone so we need to try and cover the gap with other teams.”

Rovers have already enlisted the services of goalkeeper Victor Twaliki and former Harare City player Agrippa Murimba.

Rovers head coach Taku Shariwa yesterday said, while they are in a desperate situation where they need to start collecting points, they will try to play with freedom and avoid putting themselves under pressure.

“Our position is not good at all, we need to focus on the coming matches, we need points more than any other team. But we don’t want to put ourselves under intense pressure because we will make mistakes, we are taking each game as it comes,” he said.
