Zanu PF MP for Hurungwe West, Keith Guzah’s divorce matter has now been set for hearing tomorrow at the High Court, bringing to an end a two-year long matrimonial dispute.

The legislator approached the court sometime in May 2014 seeking to divorce his wife, Zandile, claiming they had lost love and affection for each other and their marriage was beyond redemption.
In court papers filed by his lawyers, Chibune and Associates, Guzah claims his marriage has “irretrievably broken down to such an extent that there are no prospects of restoration of a normal marriage”.
The MP, who said he has not been staying with his wife since 2008, said he wanted to officially end the couples’ 24-year-old marriage due to unsolvable differences.
“Both parties have lost love and affection for each other. Both parties have not lived together as husband and wife for a continuous period since January 2008, which is in excess of 12 months, as at the time of instituting the proceedings for divorce,” Guzah said in his affidavit.
In his proposal for property sharing, Guzah offered a number of properties to his estranged wife, including a house and other movable property.
But Zandile has since challenged Guzah’s proposal and accused the MP of lying before the court on the list of properties they acquired as a couple.

“The plaintiff has deliberately left out some of the immovable property, which was acquired by the parties during the subsistence of the marriage,” Zandile said in her answering affidavit filed by her lawyers, Pundu and Company.
She demanded to be given houses in Mt Pleasant and Mandara, which had not been included from the initial property list filed by Guzah, saying the MP should get a house in Avondale and another in Highfields.
Zandile also demanded to be given a Hyundai Rajet, Toyota Hilux single cab, a T35 Mazda truck and Range Rover (2011), adding the MP should retain a BMWX5, SLK 200 Mercedes Benz, Porsche Cayenne and a Mercedes Benz S600.
She further demanded $900 in monthly maintenance for the couple’s two children, who are said to be attending school in China at her expense.
“The defendant claims maintenance for herself in the sum of $600 per month until she remarries or dies, whichever occurs first,” she stated.
Zandile further said she wanted a portion of their Carlton Curlicue Farm measuring 115 hectares and that she keeps the farm house.
