A LARGE field of 120 golfers took time off from office, as they converged at Chapman Golf Club on Friday for the annual Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ) annual corporate golf day.

IIZ president Edward Gomba said the golf tournament was a success as it provided an opportunity to raise funds for the institute, while also providing a unique networking platform.
“The main purpose of this tournament was to raise funds for the institute at the same time socialising as an industry and this objective has always been met. Once again, let me say thank you for the support you have been and still giving to IIZ,” he said.
Grand Reinsurance managing director Tatenda Katoma, urged fellow insurance practitioners to fully support the cause of the institute, while also thanking companies who had sponsored the tournament.
He also implored the insurance industry to work together by coming up with innovative ideas to boost the industry.
He also said that Grand Reinsurance had recorded good results in the 2015 financial year, giving confidence to their customers of continued business. Themba Ruvingo from the MBCA team, Francis Tamburayi from the Sahwira Mukuru team and Clive Machiye walked away with prizes
