Akbay is not convinced he has the right quality in his team, but is glad that, as a unit, the team has managed to play well.

He singled out Caps United, FC Platinum and Triangle as the teams that have better players on an individual basis.

Highlanders sit at the top of the log table with 26 points, two better than Caps United, while FC Platinum, who have played a match less than the top two, have collected 23 points.

“With the quality of players we have, ending the season on position six or seven will be good. Caps, Chicken Inn, FC Platinum and Triangle have got better players. It depends on how you look at it; we have been playing well as a team, but not individually,” he said.

Highlanders will play their next two matches at Barbourfields Stadium with an away match against Chicken Inn before they host Triangle at the same venue.

After that they will be on the road again to face Mutare City Rovers, while a back-to-back clash with Caps United will be the real test of Bosso’s revival and resolve.

“We lost to Chicken Inn in the Independence Cup and what we want to do now is to try and win every game,” the Dutchman said.

Akbay still hopes he can give the team a 90th anniversary present by winning the title.

Since he took over everything has been looking up for the Bulawayo giants who recorded their first league match win against Dynamos after a 10-year wait.

Since Methembe Ndlovu led Bosso to their last league title win in 2006, a number of coaches, including Mohamed Fathi, Mkhuphali Masuku, Kelvin Kaindu and Bongani Mafu have queued up to preside over failure.
