The troupe is set to perform in the country as part of Henan Art Troupe’s Wu Shu Cultural Exchange programme, courtesy of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China in partnership with Embassy of China in Zimbabwe.

Cultural and Educational Attaché at the Chinese Embassy Wu Chuanhua, said it was a privilege for the country to host such a troupe, which is the real Tung Shung Shaolin Temple Monks.

“The performing Chinese Henan Art Troupe in Zimbabwe is much appreciated and it is going to be a lifetime experience for Kung Fu fanatics here in Zimbabwe as seeing their act is a special honour, which many people in China itself never get a chance to do,” he said.

“The Henan Art Troupe will showcase the real Chinese Kufu and we are calling for people to come in their numbers for the show which will have a lot of surprise acts to spice up the night showcasing the riches of Chinese culture.”

Wu said China was identified through Kung Fu therefore, attendees will get a taste of that cultural exchange from the performances. “We have been planning for such a programme for a long time and we are glad that we have managed to bring it to Zimbabwe in the same line of enhancing cultural relations with the arts,” he said.

Wu said Zimbabweans should brace for several other cultural exchange programmes that are in the pipeline.

“Those who want to come and witness the real Kufu in action can get the tickets which are selling at $10 at Celebration Centre, Reps Theatre, Chopsticks-Joina City, China Garden, Shangri-La Restaurant, Wingwah Restaurant, Horizon Ivato Supermarket and Chinese Embassy,” he said.
