ZIMBABWE international striker, Nyasha Mushekwi has lit up the Chinese second-tier league with his goal-scoring prowess, which has thrust him into the race for the Golden Boot Award.

The big former Mamelodi Sundowns striker scored a memorable brace on Sunday, as his Chinese club Dalian Yifang beat Meizhou Hakka 2-0 in a league match.
The goals thrust Mushekwi into second place on the goal-scoring charts, with nine goals, one behind leading goalscorer Luis Fabiano, who plays for Tian Quanjian.
Fabiano has been in irresistible form and even scored a hat-trick in March this year, as his side romped to a convincing 5-2 victory over Zhejiang Yiteng.
Aboubakar Oumarou, who plays his club football for Shenzhen FC, has also scored nine goals, setting the stage for an intriguing battle for the top goalscorer award in the Chinese second-tier league.
But it is Mushekwi’s story that was the major talking point at the weekend after his double, which lifted his team to third position on the league table with 26 points two behind leaders Qingdao.
Guizhou Zhichem are second with 27 points.

Mushekwi, who played a major part as the Warriors hammered Swaziland 4-0 on Easter Monday to take pole position of Group L with eight points, did not play in the victory over Malawi at the National Sports Stadium on June 5, which sent Zimbabwe through to the African Cup of Nations finals in Gabon next year with a game to spare.
The towering striker had asked to be excused for the match as he was sorting out “issues” with his club.
But he will be back in camp in September ahead of the Warriors final Group L clash against Guinea in Conakry, a dead rubber, as the Warriors have already been confirmed as one of the teams to take part at the biennial soccer showcase following their victory over Malawi.
Even if Swaziland, who have eight points and are second in the group, beat Malawi in their final match, they cannot overtake the Warriors because they have an inferior head-to-head record against Zimbabwe.
