This will be the son of the late sungura ace Leonard Dembo’s debut show at the joint that has become a hunting ground for upcoming and established musicians.

Show organiser Daniel Masaiti said Dembo’s appearance in the predominantly farming town provides an opportunity for the young artiste to shine, as well as to renew the romance with his late father’s legion of fans.

“The show was meant for Jah Prayzah only, but we thought it wise to bring a young artiste as a supporting act. Tendai Dembo is a hard worker, who is trying by all means to keep his late father’s legacy alive. He hasn’t been performing in Marondera of late and we have offered him an opportunity to prove himself,” he said.

“Leornard Dembo has lots of fans here and we are certain that the show will attract a lot of people. Jah Prayzah is the man of the moment and we are expecting fireworks come Saturday.”

Tendai has been riding on the coattails of his father’s legacy after resuscitating Barura Express. Apart from playing renditions of Dembo’s hits like Shiri Yakangwara, Chinyemu and Chitekete among others, Tendai is expected to dish out his own songs from his 2014 album.
