THE Zanu PF youth league has set Africa Day on May 25 as the date for its much-touted one-million-men march, which is being organised to show solidarity with President Robert Mugabe.

The march is widely believed to be a ploy by the First Lady Grace Mugabe-linked G40 faction in Zanu PF to outwit the rival Team Lacoste, reportedly loyal to Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Zanu PF youth league secretary Kudzai Chipanga yesterday said Mugabe was expected to address the marchers.
“The march is a way of reaffirming our support to President Mugabe and endorse his candidature in the 2018 harmonised elections,” he said.

Chipanga said the party’s main wing, women’s league, war veterans and war collaborators, student bodies and churches were currently busy mobilising people for the march.

The youth league leadership has a frosty relationship with some of the affiliate organisations, particularly war veterans, whom Chipanga has attacked in the past, accusing them of denigrating the First Family.

  1. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The greatest enemy you have to deal with is yourself. If there is no enemy within, then the enemy from outside can do us no harm.

  2. Let’s think seriously about how to get jobs as youths and stop being used for political gains by other people. Honestly with the current economic situation, 36 years after independence, this solidarity much is a big JOKE. Solidarity with what? Poverty, unemployment, bond notes and quails. Unless if we are now taking these marches as some form of employment.

  3. A million fools march. How can you march in support of your suffering if you are not a real fool?We will however see them in their thousands on the 25th of this month.

  4. Are we so content with suffering and limitations that we adapt it as a lifestyle? Lets learn to shun fanaticism and demand humane treatment to match the global pace. Why should we pretend while deep down we are suffering?

  5. All those who will participate in the so called million march are real fools who do not think but thrive in being impoverished by their useless and shameful leaders. What a farce!!!

  6. That shows lack of thinking. How can someone enjoy being used for political gains by someone and enjoy chanting slogans? Remember, time is chanting against you again and that you will regret when your body gets tired having gained nothing. Wake up and think for a better future. Politicians don’t play yourfools game but you are busy lifting them up with your last energy stored.

  7. Explains why we are where we are, as black people. At the bottom of the pile. If a million fools indeed do march.
We cannot think outside the box.
The box says, a bunch of crooks have denied us jobs, well being and freedom, amongst loads of other things.
Now, who in their right minds would march in support of such?

  8. Who in their right minds would march in support of their continued subjugation?
    ZANU morons, I guess

  9. Marching, marching and marching. I remember we had time when we were forced to watch galas, galas, and galas. Talk of bootleaking, cremora, moses, jesus, and born free songs. These things are useless, wasteful and senseless. Some people do not know why they survive. i don’t mugabe needs that useless march. You were not there when he started his political career. mugabe joined ZAPU from Ghana as an individual. Someone wants steal the show for nothing. Why don’t you march for jobless graduates, drought, poor programming at ZBC, ministers who are corrupt, shortage of cash, low salaries, road accidents claiming hundreds, shortages etc. Read Hamlet, Horatio’s words at the very end of the play ‘… has fallen on the inventor’s head…’

  10. misplaced priority. Kurapa mhopo iri kumusana iwe une ziso rine mbonje. This shows that we dont have future leaders in this country, we have people who think of themselves and nothing else. We as the youth of this beloved country must refuse to be used by greed politician who are bent on lining their pockets by using us as ladders to rich their goals

  11. I get paid £85 every hour from online jobs. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my friend AB is earning £9k /monthly by doing this job and she showed me how. Try it out on following website..06.

  12. So the youth will be marching in support of the re-introduction of the new Zimbabwe Dolar called Bond notes? After the Match the cash crisis will disappear and the Youths will have jobs, money in their pockets and food on the table. Its all wishful thinking.

  13. THE ISSUE IS NOT OF SOLIDARITY OR LACK OF SOLIDARITY. THE ISSUE IS THOSE WHO TRULY SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT AND HIS LEGACY SHOULD NOT PRETEND TO LOVE HIM WHILE DESTROYING HIM.THERE IS NOTHING AS BAD AS LYING TO SOMEONE IN NUMBERS WHEN WE COULD JUST MEET PRIVATELY AND GIVE THAT MAN WHO ,WHETHER ANYONE ADMITS IT OR NOT HAS DONE A LOT FOR THIS COUNTRY, THE TRUE PICTURE AND SOUND ADVICE. FOR EXAMPLE, SOMEONE SHOULD TELL HIM THAT ALL HE NEEDS TO DO RIGHT NOW IS GIVE SERIOUS LIFE CHANGING DIRECTIVES LIKE: 1. BRING BACK THE 500 MILLION THIS WEEK. 2. ????

  14. Kkkkkkkkkkkk. One million march is just an advert. No place in Harare can hold one million people. Hw many buses can carry one million people? If each bus carry 100 pple we need10 000 buses if they are combies carry 20 people each 50000 are needed. All this is impossible. Zim can be 92% bt less tha 10% numerate kusaziva uwandu wemillion

  15. I guess this should be 2million march for jobs opportunites promised. at least thatmake sense.
