The matter was postponed to June 21.
In his submission, Mwanjali told the court his legal representative, Advocate Lewis Uriri was continuously engaged at the Bulawayo High Court.
The Caps United defender, who is out on $100 bail, allegedly stabbed Tonderai Nhunzvi in the abdomen during a scuffle in the parking lot at Long Chen Plaza last month.
Allegations against the Green Machine captain were that he met Nhunzvi at an intersection in the complex with their vehicles almost colliding as they exited a bar in the early hours of April 10.
The State alleged that Mwanjali had an altercation with Nhunzvi, whom he is said to have stabbed twice after accusing him of bad driving.
It is the State’s case that Mwanjali came out of the car, which was being driven by teammate Achford Gutu, and had a verbal altercation with Nhunzvi, before going back to the vehicle where he took a knife and attacked the complainant.
