He is scheduled to perform in Edmonton on June 4 and Vancouver on June 7 and 15.
Mutsvene told NewsDay yesterday that gospel fans in Canada came to know of him after he featured on local gospel musician, Sebastian Magacha’s tour of that country a few years ago.
“I hope to serenade the crowd in a way that the Canadian fans will not forget. These concerts will unlock more that is in me,” he said.
A younger brother to another yesteryear gospel sensation, Mercy Mutsvene, of the Handingabvumi fame, Mutsvene started off playing the piano at school before venturing into singing.
He has over the years worked with different choral groups like Royal Family, Heartfelt, AFM International Choir and Zimpraise.
He recorded his first two songs, Pamhidza and Mhururu, in 2012, which were later incorporated into his debut album produced by Macdonald “Mac Dee” Chidavaenzi in 2013.

The young energetic singer, who gave an amazing performance at Itai Sunrise and Peace Gospel Singers’ album launch a few months ago, featured his older sister on the song Mhururu, which subsequently topped local gospel music charts on radio.
“It was hard for me to start my music career. However, my sister, Mercy paved a way for me by featuring on this song,” the gospel artist, who has also worked with the highflying Takesure Zamar, said.
The upcoming artiste is currently recording a 12-track album, Into Thy Presence Volume 1, set for release in the first week of July.
