Chicken Inn will be aiming for consistency after winning their league match against Mutare City Rovers at the weekend, but Caps will be looking to return to winning ways, having picked just a single point from their last two matches.

Chicken Inn skipper Danny Phiri acknowledged that they face a tough team but is still confident they can get the three points they need to revive their campaign.

“It’s going to be a tough match, but our target is to try and achieve consistency and continue winning, having won the last match,” he said.

Prior to their victory over debutants Mutare City last Sunday, the Gamecocks had seen their bright start to this year’s campaign going off track with three consecutive defeats.

Phiri has credited new coach, Rahman Gumbo for raising the players’ confidence following the barren spell.

“It’s work in progress, the guys have regained their confidence and credit must go to the coach,” he said.

On the other hand, Caps United captain, Steven Makatuka concurred that today’s match was bound to be tough.

“We have prepared well and we know that it won’t be an easy match, but we are going all out for a positive result,” he said.

The Green Machine started the season brightly and have been tipped to challenge for the title this season, but everyone at the club is reluctant to talk about that.

“As players, we are singing from the same hymn book as our coaches and believe that it is too early to talk about the destiny of the league championship,” he said.

“We are taking each game as it comes because the season is not a short sprint, but a marathon.”

Chicken Inn are nine points off the pace having collected 10 points.

Visiting Caps United are perched on third position with 14 points.

The attacking prowess in both teams points to a thrilling encounter.

Chicken Inn strikers, Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchelle Katsvairo could give the Caps defence all sorts of trouble this afternoon.

On the other hand, Caps United have a lot of striking experience in Leonard Tsipa, Simba Nhivi and Dominic Chungwa.
