“The release of Ndangariro should be an inspiration to those people with albinism that they should not stop from pursuing their goals. It does not mean the end of the world. It’s also a call to the community that we should be loved the same way others are loved,” the upcoming author said.

Mawedzere, said he led a normal life at school, but was harshly treated by his family members and only had his mother, Clemencia Mawedzere to lean on.

“I have, therefore, managed to publish Ndangariro, with the assistance from Inko Publishing Consultants and I hope to take the book to Mambo Press for reprints in the near future. I am also working on another novel Ndakazvisikira Moto Muziso, which has chapters circulating on social media,” he said.

Mawedzere lamented the lack of finance, saying this has seen him failing to approach renowned publishers.

Ndangariro tells a story of transformed lives, with the characters in the book having flashbacks to their past and cherishing their transformation.

The book was edited by United Kingdom-based Emmanuel Magaisa.
