Grain Millers’ Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) chairperson, Tafadzwa Musarara, who recently opposed to the popular #ThisFlag campaign is embroiled in a dispute with a woman, who is claiming he sired a child with her.

Cynthia Wozhele filed an application at the Civil Court under case number M900/16, where she accused Musarara of neglecting his child.
But in his opposing affidavit, Musarara denied any knowledge of siring the child, arguing he had no access to the woman at the time she alleges she conceived
Wozhele, who is demanding maintenance of $700 for the upkeep of the child, further claimed Musarara was denying looking after the child, as he was disputing being the father of the said minor.
“Respondent’s (Musarara) assertion that he has no knowledge of our minor child falls foul and short of the truth. It suffices to mention that the respondent is the one who named our minor child Tererai,” she said in her affidavit.
“For the record, the minor child has no birth certificate and is still using the birth registration card for identification. The child was born on August 12, 2015 and I called the respondent to discuss the child’s birth certificate and he was very evasive and told me that he did not want the child to use his surname.”
But Musarara insists he was not the father of the child.

“I had no access to the mother at the relevant time of conception. I humbly request this honourable court to order a DNA test to determine paternity of this minor child,” he said.
“I deny any knowledge of a child called Tererai. I have no knowledge of how she managed to acquire a birth certificate for the child in my name without my knowledge and approval.”
The court has since made an order for paternity tests.
