DeMbare have endured a frustrating start to the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season under Portuguese coach Jorge Paulo Silva and are desperate to get their campaign going.

They have particularly struggled for goals, hitting the target just twice in their first four matches where they lost two.

Before the start of the season, Silva had promised to bring in Brazilian strikers, but that deal failed to materialise, leaving the Harare giants short of firepower.

With the coach having made it clear that he was targeting only players from abroad to sharpen his strike force, Dynamos left two slots open hoping that the Brazilians would come in and fill in the gaps.

The former champions parted ways with Takesure Chinyama and were left with Rodreck Mutuma to lead the line.

He has managed just one goal so far.

Last week DeMbare captured Evans Gwekwerere making a return to domestic football after a three-year stint in Mozambique.

After struggling upfront in their league match against Caps United on Sunday despite creating a number of chances, Dynamos continue the search for another forward with Nyandoro likely to fill the void.

Nyandoro, who like Gwekwerere also had a stint in Mozambique, has since started training with the Harare giants.

Reports suggest Silva is interested in the player although he still wants to have a closer look before making a decision.

Nyandoro, who at one time was regarded as one of the best teenage talents in Zimbabwean football after a starring role in the Cosafa Youth Championship about 10 years ago, endured a frustrating spell in the Democratic Republic of Congo at star-studded TP Mazembe.

He struggled for game time and looked set to join Caps United before it was discovered that he still had a running contract with TP Mazembe.

Now after a stint in Mozambique, Nyandoro has set his eyes on joining the Glamour Boys as he seeks to relaunch his career.

Club president Keni Mubaiwa confirmed they were ready to sign on the player, but stressed the final decision would be made by the technical team.

“Nyandoro is training with us. He is being assessed by the technical team. We are prepared to sign him, but it is subject to approval by the technical team. If they are satisfied with him, we will sign him,” said Mubaiwa.

Dynamos have been struggling for fluency under Silva who had gone for five matches without a win in both league and cup competitions before making that up with a 2-1 victory over newly-promoted Mutare City.

The loss to Caps United at the weekend appears to have deflated hopes of a quick revival.

The defeat has also brought Silva’s future under discussion with the club hierarchy saying his fate will be decided after the trip to Hwange at the weekend.

With just four points from a possible 12, Dynamos have been left desperately seeking solutions in a season where they have targeted nothing short of the Premiership.

Log leaders FC Platinum have collected 12 points, while Caps United have amassed 10.

Meanwhile, in-form Dynamos forward Valentine Ndaba was involved in a car accident in Harare on Monday night.

The former Highlanders player, who signed for the Harare giants at the beginning of the season, has settled well at DeMbare where he has been outstanding despite the team’s stuttering form.

He is reported to be recuperating at Parirenyatwa Hospital after injuries following the accident.

Team manager Richard Chihoro said: “He is recovering well. He did not sustain serious injuries.”

This comes as a big blow to Dynamos coach Silva who is desperate for a win over Hwange at the weekend after his side was defeated in the Harare derby by bitter rivals Caps United.

Silva was given a target of nine points from three matches and after two matches against Mutare City and Caps United, he has only picked four points.

If he loses to Hwange, it could be all over for the Portuguese coach and his entire backroom staff that also has Lloyd Mutasa and goalkeepers’ coach Gift Muzadzi.
