The event, at a venue yet to be announced, will give room for artists to get a chance to showcase their products and talent to the outside world.

The fair that will run under the theme Creative Mind, Skilful Hands # ourkidsneedheroes, is set to bring in diversity and appreciation of the arts in Bulawayo, while providing a platform for networking with the corporate world.

Speaking to NewsDay, BIAF founder Mondliwethu Nkala said in an effort to embrace its vision to bring on board emerging and established artistes they were inviting entries for exhibitions.

“The event will feature an internationally-recognised sidewalk sales, gallery, exhibition, children and youth day, educational opportunities, music, dance and theatrical performances in a variety of outdoor and indoor venues,” he said.

“Creative Mind Skilful Hands 2016 is open to artists whose primary residence is Zimbabwe. Work eligible for exhibition in the art fair includes drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, hand pulled prints, water colours and fashion designers.”

Nkala said people should come and witness a wide variety of great unique things, mix and mingle and enjoy the hospitality of the City of Kings and Queens.

BIAF was founded in 2015.
