As the Martin mania that has gripped the local showbiz circuit following his confirmation of the concert in a 38-second video clip grows, the concert organisers last Thursday released ordinary advance tickets, a move they said was meant to ease pressure on fans on the day of the show.

One of the organisers, Barbra Chikosi, popularly known as Mama Red Rose yesterday told NewsDay that only those who will purchase the ordinary tickets in advance will enjoy the offer.

“We have decided to give a special offer to Chris Martin’s fans, who will purchase the Together As One Live Concert’s ordinary tickets in advance at $10 instead of the actual $15 that will be paid at the gate,”she said.

“Although we want to accommodate everyone provided they buy their tickets in advance, it must be clear to the fans that all price of tickets to be bought on the day of the gig have not been reduced, they remain at $15 ordinary and $20 VIP at the gate.”

Chikosi said fans should buy tickets for the show at officially recommended outlets among them Red Rose hair salons, Coloursell Furniture branches, Sopranos Restaurant in Avondale and Hard Sounds Gulf complex and Long Cheng Plaza Shop 143.

Meanwhile, about eight local female emcees have been accorded the opportunity to showcase their talent, as they will battle for honours at the concert.

The emcees, led by Empress Christine, include Iron Lady, Spooky, DJ Teezy, DJ Spin, Lyrical Base, Lady Vicious and Gully Side, made the grade at a recent talent search held at The Basement Nite Club in the capital.

Chikosi said the idea to include the female emcees was to afford them a chance to showcase their talents, as ladies are mainly sidelined at several concerts of such high profile.

At the potentially explosive gig, the Cheaters Prayer hitmaker will be supported by Jah Prayzah, dancehall stars Winky D and Lipsy, courtesy of Red Rose Events, 2 Kings Promotions and Jacaranda Promotions.

There will be entertainment galore at the concert that will see several popular local sounds, among them Silverstone, Stone Love, Fyah Links, Legendary, Mighty Ducks, Stan Splash, Bodyslam, Digital One and Majestic 3 clashing before the main show.
