PROMINENT writer, journalist and war veteran Alexander Kanengoni died at his home on Tuesday.

He was 65.
Kanengoni’s son, Tinashe, confirmed his father’s death, saying the veteran writer collapsed and died at home in Harare in the morning due to suspected heart failure.
At the time of his death, Kanengoni was the deputy editor of the weekly newspaper, The Patriot.
He also worked as deputy editor at the now-defunct Daily Mirror published by academic, Ibbo Mandaza.
Kanengoni is a published author and among his books are Echoing Silences, Effortless Tears, When the Rain Bird Cries and Vicious Circle.
The veteran journalist also participated in the 1970’s liberation struggle as a youth.
