MAKOKOBA legislator Tshinga Dube (Zanu PF) is embroiled in a nasty fight with his former personal assistant Nothiwani Dlodlo, accusing him of extortion.

Dube alleges Dlodlo has been “begging” for money using his name by falsely claiming that he had sent him to look for cash to organise constituency events.

Dlodlo has now been booted out from the Makokoba constituency information centre where he was in charge following the “extortionist” claims levelled against him.

“Dlodlo is an extortionist and has been going around the constituency fleecing people of their money after falsely claiming that I had sent him to do so to raise cash towards various constituency functions and meetings I usually hold in Makokoba,” Dube said yesterday.

“We have taken parliamentary constituency office keys from him and he is no longer my personal assistant. Makokoba Zanu PF district committees had also raised a red flag against his deeds and fired him after also accusing him of working with Zimbabwe People First.”

Dlodlo, however, denied the charges saying: “That is not true, I have not extorted any money from anyone using Dube’s name.”

Dube has also been accused of failing to pay Dlodlo and his election agents a single cent for their services since the “by-electioneering” period in April, 2015.

In letters dated April 20, 2016 addressed to Dube, Dlodlo alongside Thubelihle Sibanda (office secretary), Morewell Ndlovu (chief election agent) and Petros Beni, who offered campaign items such as chairs and tents, accused the Makokoba legislator of reneging on his promises to pay them for services rendered after his election last year. Dube landed the Makokoba constituency when he outpolled six other independent candidates after failed attempts in the past two elections.
