One of the concert organisers Barbra Chikosi, known as Mama Red Rose on the showbiz scene yesterday said the stage was set for the concert and urged fans to come in their numbers to welcome Martin.

“Chris Martin and his band will touch down at Harare International Airport around 5pm. We have organised free transport to carry fans to the airport to welcome their favourite musicians,” Chikosi said.

“From the airport, Chris Martin will go for radio interviews and an official press conference will be held on Thursday at Rainbow Towers.”

She said lucky fans will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with Martin before the show at a special dinner function at a local hotel in the capital.

Chikosi said the special offer for the 1 000 ordinary advanced tickets that were slashed prices from $15 to $10 will come to an end tomorrow.

“We had released about 1 000 ordinary advanced tickets on the market at reduced price and to those who are yet to purchase theirs have to do it earlier as the offer is coming to an end on Wednesday (tomorrow),” she said.

“Fans must know that after Wednesday ordinary tickets will be selling at $15 and $20 for VIP at officially recommended outlets among them Red Rose hair salons, Coloursell Furniture branches, Sopranos Restaurant in Avondale and Hard Sounds Gulf Complex and Long Cheng Plaza Shop 143.”

Chikosi said they have created a VVIP enclosure after request from top executives and socialites and at the enclosure the guests would be served while seated in the comfort of their chairs.

There will be entertainment galore at the concert that will see several popular local sounds, among them Silverstone, Stone Love, Fyah Links, Legendary, Mighty Ducks, Stan Splash, Bodyslam, Digital One and Majestic 3 clashing before the main show.

About eight local female emcees led by Empress Christine have also been accorded the opportunity to perform at the concert.

At the potentially explosive gig, the Cheaters Prayer hit-maker will be supported by high riding Jah Prayzah, dancehall stars Winky D and Lipsy, courtesy of Red Rose Events, 2 Kings Promotions and Jacaranda Promotions.

In a 38 seconds video clip, Martin said he was excited to be coming to Zimbabwe and perform for his fans in the country.
