OVERNIGHT co-leader, Louis de Jager from South Africa, kept the momentum going to stay two shots ahead of the field after the second round of the R1,8 million Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open Championship at the Royal Harare Golf Club yesterday.

The 29-year-old Johannesburg-based golfer shot a solid two-under 70, to take the sole lead on nine-under-par 135, a shot ahead of compatriot Vaughn Groenewald, who also shot 70 yesterday.
De Jager will start the third round two shots ahead of the duo of Mark Murless and Lyle Rowe, who are tied for third position on six-under-par.
Zimbabwe’s fast rising professional golfer, Scott Vincent revived hopes of a home winner, as he rebounded from a difficult opening round by carding a 4-under-68 for the day to move to five under after the third round of the Sunshine Tour event.
The 23-year-old United States-based golfer managed five birdies, with the only blemish on his card coming on the par-3 13th, when he made a double bogey.
Vincent, however, still has a lot to do over the weekend if he is to contend for the coveted title, as he stands tie for fifth place, four strokes behind the leader.
Defending champion, Dean Burmester is also one of the seven players on five-under after finally getting back to his best with a three-under par round of 69, which included four birdies and two bogeys.

The Zimbabwe-born South African golfer is aiming to join childhood hero Nick Price as the only player to successfully defend the event.
Also tied for fifth on five under-par include Zimbabwe’s Mark Williams, who carded a three-under-par round of 69, Kevin Rundle (68), Teaghan Gauche (70), Bryce Easton (70) and Jacques Kruyswijk (71).
Crowd favourite, Marc Cayeux, who is competing in his first Sunshine Tour tournament after more than five years away from the game managed to make the cut despite carding three-over par 75.
Cayeux will start the third round tied for position 37 with leading amateur Kieran Vincent, who also completed the first 36 holes on one-over-par. The other local players to make the cut include Ryan Cairns (+2), amateur David Amm, Greg Bentley and Mohammad Mandhu (all on +4).
