KUWADZANA East MP Nelson Chamisa (MDC-T) on Sunday sensationally claimed government was now being run by “dealers” who have no interest in growing the economy, but were after plundering the country’s resources.

Chamisa was addressing members of his constituency, who braved the heavy downpour which pounded the city to attend the rally.
“The problem in Zimbabwe is that the revolution has been hijacked by many revisionists and fake revolutionaries in charge in government, as well as too many dealers in government who want to make money and fortunes at the expense of the people,” Chamisa said.
“The state of the ruling Zanu PF is that it is completely split and is now imploding into bits and pieces with many different factions and that is why rather than focusing on providing the two million jobs, they have instead delivered two Vice-Presidents who never agree on the direction of the country and the party.”
Chamisa added: “Even in Parliament, we are witnessing policy contradiction and inconsistencies in government. An example is of the two Patricks, Zhuwao (Youth and Indigenisation minister) and Chinamasa (Finance minister), who are always contradicting on policy issues.
“Zhuwao’s irony is that he wants to close already closed, and shut already shutdown companies.
In fact, Zhuwao’s adventurism will be the single and final nail to place the country’s economy into a coffin.”

Chamisa said policy inconsistencies had resulted in President Robert Mugabe revealing $15 billion worth of diamonds had gone missing.
“For anyone to dare steal billions worth of diamonds, it means they are experienced in the practice of looting smaller denominations like millions. Clearly, there could be other millions missing after being looted. Mugabe should do more in explaining on the missing $15 billion. We expect an audit to begin, but the problem is that auditing is an after event when the horses of corruption and theft have already bolted,” Chamisa said.
He urged the fragmented opposition parties to unite and fight Zanu PF as one entity.
“We need unity of all forces, Morgan Tsvangirai (MDC-T), Welshman Ncube (MDC), Tendai Biti (People’s Democratic Party), Simba Makoni (Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn) and help each other to achieve the people’s cause. The issue of disputed elections must be resolved so that we move forward,” he said.
