Highlanders unveil new 2016 kit

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League giants Highlanders unveiled their 2016 season playing kit at the weekend.

The kit has “90” inscribed on the chest to celebrate 90 years since the club’s founding.

This year marks Bosso’s 90th anniversary and the club has lined up a number of activities to celebrate the milestone.

Sports minister Makhosini Hlongwane officially unveiled the new kit during half-time at Bosso’s match against Botswana’s Gilport Lions at Barbourfields on Sunday.

The Adidas kit, which is similar to the one Highlanders used last season, carries the sponsors’ logo on the front.

The club’s board was set to deliberate on the kit yesterday, on whether they would want any changes to it.

Chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede confirmed that the kit would form part of their deliberations in the usual Monday meetings.

“We will be holding a meeting later today (yesterday) to present it to the rest of the board members and then we will contact our sponsor to confirm that it is what we want for this season,” Gumede said.

Last season, Highlanders spent more than half the season using their 2014 strip as there were delays in delivering the kit.

Gumede said they wanted to confirm the strip on time to avoid delays in the delivery this time around.
