Nyasha Moyo (18) ) was convicted on her own plea of guilty to falsely accusing her brother of raping her. She was, however, spared a custodial term after Chitungwiza magistrate Tafadzwa Miti ordered her to instead perform 105 hours of community service at Seke North Clinic.

Prosecutor Ntombikayise Nleya told the court that on February 3 this year, Moyo filed a rape report at Chitungwiza Police Station, leading to the arrest of her brother.

She later approached one Constable Chindove and pleaded with him to cancel the matter, saying the report was false.

Moyo was made to complete an affidavit form to facilitate the withdrawal of the case, leading to her arrest.
