Manunure High School bombed

MANUNURE High School in Kwekwe had its financial records destroyed by fire following a suspected petrol bomb attack at the bursar’s office on Monday night.

The School Development Committee chairman Dickson Zhou confirmed the incident, saying receipt books, computers and desks in the bursar’s office were reduced to ashes in the attack which took place around 8pm.

“The headmaster of the school called me about the fire which we suspect was caused by a petrol bomb. It destroyed a lot of things but we are yet to ascertain how much was destroyed in the fire,” he said.

Zhou said he was not yet sure what could have motivated the attack on the institution’s offices.

Police detectives were this afternoon still combing the area, although they remained tight-lipped over the matter.

Sounds like a case gone well of planned destruction of evidence in the days of widespread school funds abuse.

The bursar has a lot to answer. He might have sent them to destroy his footprints as a few dollars desappeared from the coffers of the school

My former high school. The economic hardship are turning people to be criminals. Someone needed to destroy evidence.

the information provided here is very skeletal, from the look of it, not only financial records were destroyed and not only did they lose administration property which was destroyed by fire, but many students also lost their their O level and A level certificates. That room “reception”captured above, as far as i still remember, is where all A level and Olevel certificates, which belongs to former student were being kept.
