Bright Mugorogodi is alleged to have defrauded Masaisai Primary School by withdrawing various amounts of money from the school’s bank account between 2012 and 2014. Mugorogodi was not asked to plead to the charge.

Presiding magistrate Elijah Makomo granted him $300 bail and remanded the matter to April 21 this year.

It is the State’s case that Mugorogodi was responsible for the day-to-day running of the school, including its finances.

The alleged scam was exposed by an audit firm hired by the school, leading to Mugorogodi’s arrest.
