Portrait of the Zimbabwean rural woman

They often remain unnamed. Yet they have raised some of the world’s greatest men and women.
From their humble homes with floors that are polished with cow dung, they raise children, and raise nations. They are mothers.

Their day, International Womens’Day is marked internationally, showing the importance of women in our entire society.

The Institute for Young Women’s Development, which held commemorations in Madziwa, Shamva District on Thursday, seeks to bring out the best out of the young women living especially in marginalised and rural communities.

At the event, which was attended by over a hundred women and men, the focus was on the recognition of the contribution of women to their various communities.

As dedication, we have below portraits of the unnamed rural women who were part of the event.
The represent the image of the women in rural communities.

Tapiwa Zivira. The concept behind this is very beautiful and I applaud you. However I will ask that in future if you do this again please capture image of rural women in their day to day tasks.. In the fields, fetching water firewood, at the clinic, at funerals, at the market, selling, making pots, making baskets and mats , madoili kugarden. kumajuru ku church etc.. Capture rural zimbabwean women in their totality. These look like women at a rally or some meeting. In our different provinces women do different tasks. In some places women plaster hut walls , they even roof the huts. For starting it Thank you.

Tapiwa has done a good job here. If you have any other methods or ways, I think AMH Voices will show your pictures. Do something Grace than to keep finding blame on everything that needs mere applauding (My p is sticking)
