The two teams clash at Rufaro Stadium with the winner progressing to the second and final round where Zambia are the likely opponents.

Zimbabwe carry what appears a comfortable lead going into the weekend match, having scored two away goals in their 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture in Dar es Salam. Striker Erina Jeke scored the two goals.

The Shadreck Mlauzi-coached side will need to avoid defeat to progress to the last round with the ticket to the finals to be hosted by Cameroon beckoning.

But Mlauzi might have to do without Neshamba, who is struggling with a knee problem.

“We have some concerns for Neshamba because of her chronic knee problem. She is training, but is struggling and is a major doubt for the match. We will continue to monitor her,” Mlauzi said.

Neshamba, scorer of the two golden goals that propelled the Mighty Warriors to the Rio Olympics, lasted 85 minutes in the first leg match in Tanzania.

“We are obviously worried because she is a crucial member of the team. She brings a lot. Her intelligence on and off the ball is key, especially in such big matches,” Mlauzi said. The Mighty Warriors are expected to play a preparatory match against the Harare City Under-17 boys’ team this afternoon.
