The man was yesterday found guilty of aggravated indecent assault by Chitungwiza magistrate Estere Chivasa. The indecent assault is said to have occurred in Seke.

Prosecutor Tendai Mukariri told the court that on January 1, 2016, at around 12 midnight, the minor was sitting alone at the veranda, while her father and the culprit were inside the house watching a television programme.

The gardener is said to have approached the minor and asked her to follow him so that he could give her some sweets.

The two proceeded to the back of the house and he then gave her two sweets before he removed her panties.

He then inserted his finger into the minor’s privates without her consent and disappeared into the darkness when he noticed that the minor’s father was coming in their direction.

However, luck ran out for him since the minor’s father had already noticed him pulling up the zip of his trousers.

The father noticed that his daughter’s undergarment was on the ground and he asked her what was going on.

The minor narrated to her father what their gardener had done to her. She also explained to her grandmother the same ordeal, who then made a police report, leading to the culprit’s arrest.
