A DOMBOSHAVA self-proclaimed prophetess lost her husband of 20 years apparently to one of her regular clients, the Harare Civil Court has heard.

NQOBILE NKIWANE The matter came to light when the victim in the matter, Precious Mahamba approached the civil courts yesterday and appeared before magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza, claiming $250 maintenance from Christopher Mahamba.

In her claim, Precious said part of the amount was for the former couple’s two children and the remainder was her spousal maintenance.

Precious further told the court that Christopher was currently staying with a woman who was a client and she had prayed for.

“I know the woman he is currently staying with. She used to consult me for divine intervention,” she said.

The court further heard Christopher was now taking care of his new wife’s children.

In response, Christopher denied having a new wife and went on to claim Precious was out to make a living out of maintenance, as he was not the only man she had made claims against.

“She has had two husbands before me and has claimed maintenance from them. Now she has brought me here,” he said.

“At one point she even told me she does not have challenges in getting husbands.”

The presiding magistrate ordered Christopher to pay $50 monthly and also pay the children’s school fees.
