Of movie house in heaven

You probably heard or were taught as a fairy tale or as doctrine that God is recording your wrong deeds in order to play them on a giant screen at the end of the ages. Proponents of this theory teach that at the consummation of time people will be gathered viewing the playback of life. It’s further suggested that there will be a big auditorium in heaven and viewers will deride you, laugh at you and mock you for the evil you did in the dark or secret on earth. Many believers are living in fear, dreading the coming of this day. What a fallacy!

The effect of this teaching is that people live in bondage and hypocritically calculate their move. They are striving to be self-righteous to please God. Followers of this doctrine are sin-conscious instead of Christ-conscious. This leads to condemnation and self-denial and low self-esteem. They are whipped into thinking God is keeping an eye on us in order to strike when we falter. God is viewed as a harsh master. Life becomes a nightmare and hopeless. Pursuing your dreams becomes traumatic. It’s like chasing the wind and the devil likes that way.

Is God looking for occasion for us to slip? There are mindsets that create windows or doorways for demonic attack. People are then led to quickly conclude that God is punishing them. They then confess sins without end. Nothing happens and they end up seeking help from false prophets and witchdoctors. At the end of his life, Apostle Paul remarks in 2 Timothy 4:8: “Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Does this sound like there is horror awaiting believers?

The above verse is usually misinterpreted to mean that there is a special clique who have reserved crowns. Please, remember that the basis for this presentation is that I am writing to born again believers. In case you are in sin and desire this crown, the answer is simple: Confess Jesus and He will qualify you. As Apostle Paul states, the crown is also for everyone that loves the appearing of Jesus. I wouldn’t want to miss such an offer on a silver platter.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand the spirit of the interpretation of the Bible. Hebrews 8:12 reads, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Since you are in Christ and your righteousness is of Christ, God’s mercy is upon you. If God chooses not to remember your sins, who will keep the record to play your sins on a giant screen in heaven? The expression no more means that even in future. If it cost God the life of His Son, it naturally follows that He would not want to waste that sacrifice. God doesn’t play games with us to get at us on counter-attack.

If you are in Christ, everything that could stand against you falls away. Colossians 2:13-14 puts it thus: “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.”

Surely the assurance of your salvation doesn’t come any better. You don’t try to be righteous, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Jesus died not only that we go to heaven free, but also enjoy the journey. Nothing will separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. God is not condemning you. Be free to fellowship with your Father. He loves you. I leave you with this question. It reads in Romans 8:34: “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

If Christ is interceding for you, He won’t be hypocritical by accusing you at the same. Don’t live in fear, live a free and open life. You’re going somewhere.
