The matter came to light yesterday when Trymore Manyange (33) appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Zihove, charged with theft of trust property.

However, Manyange pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to February 20 on $300 bail.

Allegations against Manyange are that on February 2 this year, he received 6 000 litres of diesel to sell from Patrice Chaitika and was ordered to surrender proceeds to Chaitika on a daily basis.

The State further alleges on February 8, the duo conducted a stocktake and it was discovered there was a shortfall in the cash from diesel sales.

Chaitika then questioned Manyange about the anomaly, but he failed to give a convincing response, prompting Chaitika to report the matter to police.
