The former Chicken Inn shot stopper left the Gamecocks in 2014, trained with Bulawayo giants Highlanders in pre-season last year before he fell out with the Bongani Mafu-led technical team and packed his bags to Kariba.

He has retraced his footsteps to the City of Kings and was yesterday spotted training with Bulawayo City at Barbourfields Stadium, with coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube saying the club will sign the goalkeeper, who turns 26 in July.

“He (Chirava) is here with us. He has been training with us and we are definitely going to sign him. He joins our other three goalkeepers and we will be loaning out one of them,” he said.

Chirava joins veteran Ndodana Sibanda and former Highlanders’ duo Archford Katsande and Aaron Ngwenya, who have since been signed by Bulawayo City.

Ncube said he was also assessing former Highlanders skipper, How Mine central defender, Gilbert Banda, ex-Bosso midfielder, Mthulisi Maphosa and Hwange attacking linkman, Nkosana Siwela, who are also training with Bulawayo City.

Also under scrutiny is Sipho Ndlovu, an attacking midfielder, who played for Southern Region Soccer League side Technosphere last year.

“Of all these players that I am still looking at, two will not be part of us when we finalise our squad. We are working hard like everybody else and the team is taking shape,” Ncube said.

Bulawayo City started their pre-season training on January 5.

They have signed midfielder Edmore Muzanenhamo, who was on loan to the Bosso last year from Division One side Ntabazinduna Prison.

Bulawayo City have also grabbed former Chicken Inn strikers Mkhokheli Dube and Thomas Chimenya.

They have also been joined by former Bulawayo Chiefs utility player Proud Zireni, Peace Tshuma, Zibusiso Sibanda, Terrence Majo and Pheleus Sibanda.
