Zanu PF youths dare Mugabe

TWO of the three suspended Zanu PF youth leaders Godfrey Tsenengamu (Mashonaland Central) and Vengai Musengi (Mashonaland West) have dared President Robert Mugabe to rein in his wife, First Lady Grace Mugabe, before turning his anger on party youths.

BY OBEY MANAYITI

Tsenengamu and Musengi were suspended alongside Godwin Gomwe (Harare) on allegations of publicly denigrating Grace and other top leaders.

The three, members of the Save Zanu PF Campaign, made the call yesterday as they prepared to appear before a Zanu PF national disciplinary sub-committee chaired by State Security minister Kembo Mohadi today to answer charges of insulting Grace, among others.

The disciplinary hearings will be conducted at Mohadi’s Mukwati Building offices in Harare.

Addressing delegates at his 92nd birthday celebrations in Masvingo on Saturday, Mugabe said the governing party would not tolerate “misguided and unruly youths” who publicly denigrated party leaders, including his wife.

He said the culture was alien and those involved should be dealt with accordingly.

But Tsenengamu and Musengi accused the party leadership of being selective in its application of the law, saying Hurungwe East and Women’s League finance secretary Sarah Mahoka should also be disciplined for publicly dressing down Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“In this case, the application of the party constitution is not even. This is unfair. We respect the President’s wife as youths, but respect is reciprocal. It is not one way and when she is not respecting her seniors, then what do we learn?” Tsenengamu asked.

“Unless the President reins in his wife to stop verbally insulting seniors in the party, juniors will follow suit.”

He added: “The leadership is being selective on how it is treating membership. It’s more of a spider web catching the small insects while leaving bigger ones. I want to make it clear that no form of suppression will silence us. It’s not true that we are fighting for VP Mnangagwa. We are fighting for our future. When these leaders were youngsters themselves, they were fighting for their future like what we are doing ourselves.”

Musengi concurred with Tsenengamu, saying the party should apply its laws equally to instil discipline across the board and remove the culture of fear in Zanu PF.
Gomwe could not be reached for comment.

The people who amended the ZPF Constitution created one centre of power and that centre of power is President Mugabe. Rightly or wrongly whatever decision he makes is binding to all ZPF members. Nobody is allowed to oppose the decisions of the President. The President wants Grace and G40 to succeed him and that decision must be respected. The War Vets and Team Lacoste must obey their President’s orders otherwise they will be purges from the party. One centre of power means that the leader must be allowed to lead and everyone follows.

Gen Costantine G Chiwenga deserves a double salute from his men under command and the generality of the country’ civil populace. When his then wife behaved in a manner that denigrated the personality of the General and the entire branches of the Defences Forces,he opted to terminate that matrimonial relationship, and indeed his reputation and that of the organisation was spared.Of course, the president is advanced in age and could not opt for the route taken by the General, but the option left for Mugabe is that he should persuade his wife to resign as women’s league chairperson. It is quite apparent that this woman is not good enough for the country’s future leadership material. Hopefully, the president is reprimanding his foul mouthed wife in the bedroom.

The Youth leaders are right. Leaders must lead by example. Leaders must respect themselves first to earn respect from their subordinates. Grace and Mahoka disrespected VP Mnangagwa and must be repremanded. This selective application of law must stop. It appears as if only perceived supporters of ED are being prosecuted while supporters of amai Grace and G40 are being protected from prosecution. We want fairness in the application of law.

African politics is, the more you bootlick, the more you will be in Sh!t. This Gomwe used to hero worship the first lady during Midzi’s era, now look, where is he now?

LA POLITICA ES UNA JUEGO SUCIO.

How can you walk into a starved lion’s cage and expect mercy? Leadership? you expect fairness in Zanu PF – what a joke. You remember the book ‘Cry my Beloved Country’ – the animal farm – – that drama is being replayed in Zimbabwe, live.

Dictatorships like our own often feel threatened at the mere mention of the word democracy. When this happens, they are quick to cite African cultural values and the supposed threat to these by that “dirty” word. Truth is that many African societies practiced collectivist democracy long before the advent of the western model.

African politics is, the more you bootlick, the more you will be in Sh!t. This Gomwe used to hero worship the first lady during Midzi’s era, now look, where is he now? There is another one who used to call the nonagenarian, a cremora, where is he now? The list is endless.

The problem is, there are no jobs. So, if you dont bootlick, how are you gonna survive? Bootlicking does not mean you love your leaders, NO. Bootlicking is fake love manufactured to protect and safeguard ill-gotten wealth. The bootlickers think that by bootlicking, the President wont fire them whenever they break the law. If i were the President, i would fire all the bootlickers, becoz, they have fake love.
