With the tie prettily poised after Chicken Inn’s 1-0 win in the first leg, the second leg has drawn much interest such that the move to have the game live will be welcomed on both sides of the Limpopo River.
Michelle Katsvairo scored the priceless goal for the Joey Antipas-coached side at Barbourfields Stadium two weeks ago.
According to reports from South Africa, of the four South African clubs competing in the African safari this weekend, Sundowns were the only club to enter into a deal with SuperSport for coverage of their home games.
Kaizer Chiefs were reportedly still in discussions with the South Africa’s national broadcaster, SABC, over coverage of their African Champions League tie against Volcan Club of the Comoros Islands in Durban, although the two parties were yet to reach any agreement.
In the African Confederation Cup, both Ajax and Bidvest Wits have a lead from the first leg away last weekend, but neither club’s home match will be televised.
Wits host Light Stars of the Seychelles at 6pm, and Ajax’s game against Sagrada Esperança of Angola is at 7.30pm at the Athlone Stadium.
However, all the focus will be at the Lucas Moripe Stadium where Chicken Inn will be hoping to complete one of the biggest Caf Champions League upsets in recent years.
