Gokwe-Nembudziya MP Justice Wadyajena, who is facing charges of disorderly conduct, was yesterday granted his passport to travel to the United Kingdom by Victoria Falls resident magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa.

Wadyajena’s lawyer Givemore Muvhiringi had applied for the temporary release of his passport stating his client wanted to process his visa to prepare for government meetings in the UK between April and July.
Muvhiringi also requested the court for the alterations of the reporting conditions to once monthly.
His application for the temporary release of the passport was not opposed by the State.
Last month, the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Youth chairperson was issued with a warrant of arrest after failing to attend court, but when he eventually showed up he told the court he had not been feeling well and had gone to consult a dentist on the day he was supposed to appear in court.
Wadyajena was arrested in December in the resort town of Victoria falls, just after the Zanu PF national conference, for allegedly insulting Jimayi Muduvuri, a Zanu PF member, the insults allegedly directed at First Lady, Grace Mugabe.

On the day in question, the State alleges, Jimayi was travelling to Elephant Hills Hotel along Park Way in his vehicle emblazoned with posters of the First Lady inscribed with the words “Munhu wese kuna Amai” (Everyone should rally behind the First Lady).
Wadyajena, who was standing beside a car, was alleged to have shouted: “Iwe Jimayi urimboko **** (unprintable word) wako namhamha vako ivavo. Unongoti munhu wese kuna amai sei? ( Jimayi you’re an idiot ***** with that mother of yours. Why do you say everyone should rally behind the First Lady?)”
On the second count, Wadyajena is charged with the same offence for allegedly insulting Letina Munamato Undenge after meeting her at the Elephant Hills Hotel reception area.
The MP is said to have pointed a finger at Undenge before uttering unprintable words.
Wadyajena is on $800 bail and waiting for the trial of his case on March 21 this year.
