Zanu PF has one centre of power, which is President Robert Mugabe. We all agree as party comrades. Let’s also agree that the centre of power has aides. It has survived the test of time because of those who put their lives on the line for so many years standing with Mugabe.
Comrade Mugabe, I write this letter to you as a mere party supporter, no influence, no what, but with a very heavy heart. I was at the party headquarters last week on Wednesday as you addressed us before the politburo meeting and I thought all was going to be okay.
I am sorry, Comrade President,to say that what is happening in Zanu PF is sheer madness and it needs you only to stop it. I do not belong to any side, but remain a supporter of Zanu PF.
Comrade, with all due respect, is it true that those who have stood on your side for so many years today are said to be after your position? Isn’t it that you need to be very careful on this whole issue? Are we not creating an end of era for your legacy and that of the party Zanu PF? I am confused, Comrade President. It might look Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the hunted yet it is clear that Mugabe is the one being hounded by those who pretend to stand behind First Lady Grace Mugabe.
When hunting, the hunter separates the target from the herd and, thus far, it is crystal clear that you (Mugabe) are being isolated from all those who can protect you.
The war veterans are being pushed away from you, close aides who have stood loyally for you all these years.
It is sad that those who have less years in Zanu PF and close to you are now isolating you from your trusted aides. It is also sad that more enemies are being created for the First Family and setting up Grace for a great fall.
People like George Charamba, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Munyaradzi Kajese, Misheck Sibanda, Ignatius Chombo, General Constantine Chiwenga, Major General Douglas Nyikayaramba, Sydney Sekeremayi, Alfred Nhepera, Nicholas Goche, Oppah Muchinguri and many others have given their lives in service to and in defence of the country.
Now that these people are being isolated from you, who then would be left for you and the sovereignty of Zimbabwe? I don’t have any problem with Hurungwe East MP Sarah Mahoka, but under difficult situations like the 2008 one, can she stand and defend Zanu PF?
The MDC from early 2000 to 2008 caused sleepless nights to you and your close aides made up of real men and women who measured up to the task. Why did we not hear of Mahoka then? How many times have some comrades in the party verbally assaulted you openly when they were in the cold?
Don’t allow yourself to be left the last soldier without a strong, loyal and patriotic system, which is about to be dismantled by some undefined elements who have not been tried and tested to defend the party in times of need.
Please sit down and think about it. My fear is that there is a lot of greed, vendettas, hate, manipulation and a lot of money and brains at play by others.
