Chiyangwa gets Caf appointment

Zimbabwe Football Association president Phillip Chiyangwa has been appointed to serve as a member of the Caf U20 Organising Committee.

“This is to confirm that president Chiyangwa is now within the U20 OC Committee of Caf. An official circular will be sent to all MA’s to confirm the changes as soon as possible,” Caf secretary-general Hicham El Amrani wrote in an email to Zifa general secretary Jonathan Mashingaidze.

Chiyangwa expressed his gratitude to Caf for the recognition.

“I am grateful to the Confederation of African Football for believing in me and my abilities, by appointing me to serve as a member in this important Committee,” he told the Association’s official website.

“This is a great honour to Zimbabwean football. I will repay their faith in me with splendid work and will make Zimbabwe proud by executing my duties in an impressive manner,” concluded Chiyangwa.

Chiyangwa was elected into office on December 5, 2015 and has turned fortunes of the association in his short stint as Zifa president. — online

@Gushungo, apart from spewing vitriol and writing fun comments here, what have you done for the nation as an individual. You have nothing to offer except criticism. How pathetic some minds are. Have a life please.

Chiyangwa was in the BSAP, a force that was part of the repressive system against our people.

CAF is just as dodgy as FIFA. What exactly has Chiyangwa done in his 2/3 months as ZIFA president to warrant this posting? He failed to prepare our national side for CHAN. He actually sabotaged it’s progress by firing Pasuwa, failed to organise friendlies and has now succeeded in hounding out Twine Phiri despite his good work at the PSL. So all those who are reprimanding Gushungo please explain how Chiyangwa’s conduct so far warrants this appointment? This proves how crooked this CAF organisation is. He really couldn’t organise a pissup in a brewery and his using ZIFA for his selfish interests just like his predecessors Cashbert Dube and that witch Henrientta Rushwaya, typical ZANU PF blood sucking maggots.
