The event will see a bevy of models strut on the ramp as they vie for the crown.

NewsDay caught up with a number of models including Anita Kubi, Meridith Zhou, Isabel Kheswa and Nokithula Dube at the auditions. They promised a good night. One of the show organisers Joe Tha Og said everything was now in place and they were ready for the event.

“As it is we are waiting for the day. The girls are meeting for rehearsals everyday and as you can see they are all pretty and Bulawayo should come in their numbers to watch the talent Bulawayo has as far as the cat walk is concerned,” he said.

Joe added that last year during the same time they brought in Tocky Vibes, but this year they decided to do a modelling contest because it had been long since Bulawayo had a beauty contest.

“I believe Bulawayo needs this. We have been doing different gigs for our patrons but this time around we have just decided to do it the Pretty Miss Valentine way,” he said.

The platform will also give budding models a chance to shine on a competitive stage where they will get exposure and develop their talents.
