The Mvura Yakawanda DVD album recording will see some of the finest gospel musicians in the country converging for what promises to be a memorable event. These include Sharon Manyonganise and Ellard Cherayi (both from Zimpraise), Mathias Mhere, Tatenda Mahachi, Bethen Pasinawako-Ngolomi, Psalmist Josh Kays, Kappa Twins, All for God Choir and Unity Apostolic Church.

Mpostori Wency is well-known for his energy on stage and the sing-along track, Musandikanganwe.

Mpostori Wency said he was hoping to reach out to people in the comfort of their homes through the DVD album.

“The album Mvura Yakawanda was a big success and went on to top the charts on Star FM’s Gospel Greats as well as Power FM’s Power Breakfast Show, among other local shows,” he said.

“I, however, feel the live DVD recording will help take my music to the people in a better way. There is always something about putting the face to the voice.”

Show organiser, Dionne Chivandire promised an exciting and incident-free show and called on fans to come in their numbers.

“Mpostori Wency is indeed blessed with a great voice and he is a great performer. Gospel music lovers are going to have the time of their life,” she said.

Tickets for the show have been priced at $5 for adults and children will part $2.

Mpostori Wency, who made his name with Zimpraise, is a great composer and choreographer whose hits with the gospel music ensemble include Musandikanganwe and Weminana.

He produced the eight-track album last year and its huge success caught him off guard.

“Many people fell in love with the production, especially the title Mvura Yakawanda, in which I was calling on God to bless Zimbabwe with rains. Other tracks which fans loved include Kurudzira Mwana Wako, Mwenje and Mweya Mutsvene. The Live DVD recording is, therefore, going to be off the hook and we have put together a team of great performers who we are confident will do justice to our vision and mission,” Mpostori Wency said.
