ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer, Scott Vincent is among the four local players who have signed up for the 2016 Asian Tour Qualifying School, scheduled to from January 6 in Thailand.

The 23-year-old United States-based star will be joined by brothers, Mohammad and Kayyman Mandhu, Tudor Bismark (Jnr) and Stephen Ferreira in the gruelling Q-School, which will be held in two stages over a two-week period in the Southeast Asian nation.
The Zimbabwean quartet are among the 647 hopefuls from around the world bidding to secure playing rights on the region’s premier tour next season. The first stage will be held at the Imperial Lakeview Golf Club, Springfield Royal Country Club in Hua Hin and at the Windsor Park and Golf Club in Bangkok from Wednesday to Saturday.
Should Vincent and company clear the first hurdle, they will proceed to the final stage to be held at Springfield Royal Country Club from January 13-16, where the top 40 finishers (including ties) will be awarded their Asian Tour cards.
Vincent, who was back in the country on holiday, heads to Thailand on the back of some solid performances in the US and most recently on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa.
The former St John’s College student has five professional wins since turning professional in June last year.
He won the Econet Pro Challenge on his pro debut before going on to win a further four titles on the Carolina Mountain Pro Tour and the Swing Thought Tour.

Vincent also made a positive impression in his maiden appearance on the Sunshine Tour after finishing a credible fourth at the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open in November.
In a statement on the tour’s website, Asian Tour chairman Kyi Hla Han said the 2016 Qualifying School will provide entrants with a stiff test and is expecting another strong turnout in Thailand.
“We expect a strong response from international and regional golfers for our 2016 Qualifying School as players will vie for playing opportunities on the Asian Tour and Asian Development Tour.”
