The album, produced at Monolio Studios, features Afro-jazz sensation Edith WeUtonga Katiji, Outspoken, rising musician Kuda Mutsvene, Takesure Zama Ncube, Nyari Mashayamombe, Cynthia Mare and Jah Prayzah.
Speaking to NewsDay, Mukundu said the project was meant to introduce a new crop of artistes like Vimbai Zimuto, Denzel Chivase, Primrose Njewa and Filis Ekanga to the world with the backing of established musicians.
“Anatha Brick is a series of compilation albums I release every year beginning in 2009 to help introduce unheralded but talented musicians to the world after recording with Monolio Studios,” Mukundu said.
Some of the songs on the compilation album are Taurai by Kuda, a brother of songbird Mercy Mutsvene, which also features Takesure, and Wandisiya by Holland-based Zimuto, a former Black Spirits’ band member.
Jah Prayzah and Jamaican reggae sensation Luciano collaborate on the song, Roots, which was recorded during Luciano’s trip to the country for the Pacific Zimbabwe SunSplash concert last year.
