NEW Dynamos Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Silva has branded his players “superstars” who can help him bring back the glory days to the Premier Soccer League club.

Silva was handed a three-year contract to lead Dynamos after the club decided against renewing Tonderai Ndiraya’s contract, which expired on December 31.
He had been waiting for a work permit to start his official duties with the team and after he was issued one last Friday, the Portuguese mentor immediately got down to business in preparation for the forthcoming season.
Silva said he was satisfied with the playing personnel at his disposal, but revealed he would add at least two more players to the team, preferably foreigners.
Speaking to the Press for the first time since assuming duty yesterday, he declared he was a championship coach and was looking to win not only the domestic league title, but the African Champions League.
“First of all, I want to tell you that Dynamos is a big club, is already 53 or 54 years old, if I am not mistaken. They have won the championship 20 times and in the past five years, they have been champions. So, I am here to win. I am a champion coach and for Dynamos to be champions is my expectation. I am happy with the players, they are super. . Everyone wants to a be champion,” Silva said.
“I don’t just want to win the league title, but for Dynamos to be champions of Africa,” the Dynamos mentor declared.

He warned players who were away with the national team that they should not expect any special treatment from him.
Dynamos players who were with the Warriors at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda are goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva, Roderick Mutuma, Ocean Mushure and Elisha Muroiwa.
“As for my players in the national team, I saw them. They are okay, but they should know they are the same with others here. They have to come and work hard and earn a place in the team,” the new gaffer said.
Dynamos, who had been used to winning the championship with former coach Kalisto Pasuwa, finished in second position last term after they were beaten to the trophy by Chicken Inn.
The failure to win the championship prompted the Dynamos leadership to look for the man whom they believe can deliver the championship.
To strengthen their prospects of reclaiming the glory days, Dynamos are beefing up their squad and have already confirmed the signing of former Caps United midfielder Dominic Mukandi, Highlanders winger Valentine Ndaba, the Triangle duo of midfielder Tichaona Chipunza and goalkeeper Ashley Reyners.
Former midfielder Archford Gutu and Brian Abbasi Amidu are currently training with the team and believed to be on the verge of joining the club.
