Chicken Inn registered Luveve Stadium as their home ground for their Caf Champions League debut encounter against the South African club.

Chicken Inn secretary, Tavengwa Hara confirmed the visit by the Caf official, before dismissing reports Luveve had been condemned, saying only the continental football governing body could make a decision on the suitability of the stadium.

Early this month, a team led by local inspector, Wilfred Mukuna made recommendations that should have been addressed at the venue before the arrival of the Caf inspector.

According to the report compiled by Mukuna’s team on January 14, Luveve Stadium field is in a reasonable condition, although they recommended that the north-eastern end of the touchline needed levelling.

An outer security perimeter fence and six more paying gates with turnstiles had to be added, the inner fence was in need of repair, with the evacuation gates to be painted with identifiable paint and labelled.

The report also stated that the VIP area had to be fenced off from the other sections of the stadium, while both entry points from the dressing rooms needed to be fenced to ensure the security of players and match officials.

Barbourfields Stadium had more work to be done, as the technical area on the home team’s side was said to be too close to the centre line.
