ACTION in the Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) League continues this weekend with Highlanders taking on rivals Oilers at Bulawayo Courts for the Disabled (BCD) tomorrow in a potential thriller.

Although Oilers are in second position on the log standings, with Highlanders two places further down, the two sides have a longstanding rivalry, which is expected to bring the best from both sides, as they seek to outdo each other.
Oilers are riding high after recently beating log leaders Giants and will be hoping to continue their good run of form.
Some of the players that feature for the Theo Weale-coached Highlanders include Jordan Davids, Derrick Hlabangana and Tinotenda Gumbo, while Oilers will bank on father and son duo Ernie and Shadel Noble respectively.
In another match, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) women will take on Highlanders, with Lupane State University taking on Giants in the men’s category.
Southern Mavericks (men) will play NUST, while Lakers will take on the Southern Mavericks women and Angels play Lakers juniors.

BBA spokesperson Howard Phangwana said all the games would be played at BCD, where they will be using some of the equipment which was bought for the African Union Sports Council Under-20 Youth Games in 2014.
“Most of the equipment was given to the Bulawayo City Council. They are in charge of it and they stored it at BCD. We use some of it, but when we want to use all of it, we have to apply to the Ministry of Sport,” he said.
