HOW Mine will name a new coach in the coming few days, believed to be Triangle gaffer Kelvin Kaindu.

Triangle, however, maintain that Kaindu is still their coach, as he has a running contract with the Premier Soccer League club. He is yet to report for duty though.
How Mine chairman, Paul McAndrew confirmed yesterday that they were finalising contractual terms with the person to take over from Luke Masomere, fired last season due to poor results.
“We are almost there. There are certain formalities that we need to go through before he signs. If we announce, him now, we will be putting him in a bad position. Once he signs, we will announce so at the moment we will not mention any names,” McAndrew said.
“We do not want to mess up the whole process. It is nothing complicated and we will be announcing him soon,” he said.
The team’s pre-season preparations are being handled by assistant coach Jerry Makota, as they wait for the new coach to put pen to paper.
McAndrew could not be drawn be to comment on Kaindu although speculation suggests that it is the Zambian they are negotiating with.

The new coach’s mandate will be to improve the team’s fortunes after they finished a disappointing 11th last season.
The Metallon Gold-sponsored side were one of the favourites to win the league title at the start of last season after a very busy transfer period that saw them spending huge on stars such as Devon Chafa, Tawanda Muparati, Charles Sibanda, Kuda Musharu and Tapiwa Kumbuyani, among a host of big names.
However, the team’s enormous investments failed dismally to deliver the expected returns, culminating in coach Masomere being shown the exit door, a few months before the end of the season.
“All we want is to do better than last season. We must do much better, then we will know that we have made progress,” said McAndrew.
He also gave an update on the team’s transfer dealings where he confirmed the signings of Tsepo Rantokoane, Kudzai Chidewu and Toto Banda. They have also managed to retain goalkeeper Donovan Bernard, who is currently away on national duty with the national senior team.
Marshal Machazane, who was with WhaWha last season, and Triangle duo Praise Tonha and Pascal Manhanga have also signed with How Mine, rumoured to be at the instruction of Kaindu.
Manhanga, in particular, has had a close relationship with Kaindu. He was signed by Kaindu at Highlanders in mid-2014 and when the coach left for Triangle last season, the midfielder followed him to the Lowveld.
“So far we are done with signing players. We feel that we have a good side and we want continuity, hence, we will retain some of our players and infuse them with the new players,” McAndrew said.
