Popularly known as KG, the rapper said he fell in love with Gwala’s music and lifestyle.

“This was before I ventured into hip-hop. Gwala’s lifestyle and his music touch was what made me fall in love with his art. Every time I listen to his songs I am inspired to create something new,” he said.

KG said his friends used to call him Madamara while growing up because he played the South Arican artiste’s music a lot.

The track Madamara off KG’s mixtape July’s Eve features Kellz Malaine and was produced by Bobz.

The track talks about how the musician’s art and life is influenced by Gwala, who spent eight years in jail for car theft, and how he turned his life around.

The 29-year-old musician was born and bred in Bulawayo and did his high school at Njube and Elite High School.

KG recently performed at Ibumba Festival in Bulawayo.
